The last Moku O Hawaii sanctioned canoe race for 2012 was held on Saturday, Sept. 16 in Hilo. The Daniel Nathaniel Long Distance Canoe Race was sponsored by Kamehameha Canoe Club. Six person canoes raced a triangle course starting at Hilo bay, down towards Keaukaha, out toward Pepeekeo and back to Hilo bay.
